  1. I am not sure but this is from the Wikipedia article ;

    "Mononoke" is not a name, but a general term in Japanese for a spirit or monster.

    :0)

  2. "Mononoke" (物の怪, "Mononoke"?) is not a name, but a general term in Japanese for a spirit or monster.

  3. San is also known as Princess Mononoke~ because of how she was raised~ http://myanimelist.net/character.php?id=...

  4. I love this movie. Princess Mononoke is the title of the movie. The Princess (Hime) of the story is a mysterious human who has been raised by wolves (which are themselves powerful forest gods, a little reminiscent of the Amerindian Coyote myth), who becomes both his ally and his enemy. The story is not easy to understand. It has many Japanese mythic elements but even then, it is a work of Miyazake's unique imagination, and is not intended to be simple or to have a clean resolution.

  5. mononoke is san.

    mononoke is a name, like saying faerie or sprite for a magical animal :)

    san is who eboshi refers to

    I love this movie :)  you should check out miyazaki's other films, they are all amazing too

  6. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Mo...

    Read it... I LOVE WIKIPEDIA!!

  7. Mononoke is usually a term in japanese anime or films to refer to a spirit of something.

    So it's not that it's a girl's name, it's that shes more like a spirit of the forest, so they call her, sort of like Princess spirit.
