  1. We have been on two cruises on Holland America and we got a cabin with a veranda both times, as we like to watch the ocean and see what we can see. On our second cruise over Christmas, there were 131 children on board, and I can't remember ever seeing them to any great extent as they had their own part of the ship.

When we went ashore we just looked around and saw what there was to see around the ship. We took one tour and went to the top of a mountain, and saw our ship far below us, and we wished we were on it, instead of the bus we were on.

There are always activities on board plus great food.

We can't wait until our next Holland America cruise.

    Regards,

    Dan

  2. Some lines are known for different things. I have sailed both Holland and Princess and enjoyed both and found people of all ages on both.

The big difference that I noticed were Holland was more first class - more into details of better service, food etc. Princess a much more relaxed however you still get good service and food. Holland is more expensive if that matters. Which was better well, everyone looks for different things when going on a cruise. I do not spend a great deal of time in a cabin( so not important to me) I am more interested in meeting new people and the cruise experience. As long as I have aplace to sleep, eat and we go were we are suppose to with no problems I am happy.

Look at what they offer that fits your needs & pick one. A cruise is the very Best way to have a vacation.

    ENJOY.

  3. Both are excellent!  I have travelled on both lines, and found Holland America a bit more formal than Princess and with a bit better food in the dining rooms.  An analogy I would offer is that Holland America is more like a private country club (dress, manners, food) and Princess is more like a public golf course (same but more casual).  Which line is more pleasing to you will depend upon your preferences.

  4. Princess is Less formal than Holland America.  I enjoyed the Princess cruise I took to Alaska very much.  I'm not really a formal kind of person but I don't want a bunch of drunk teenagers running all over the place either and there was none of that on the princess cruise I was on.

  5. I work in Carnival Cruise Lines Headquarters, which is the main owner of Princess, Holland America, Aida, Costa, P&O, Cunard, and Seabourn. And Holland America is a great line, and very nice, but it is for someone who is not too young, it is more for people in their late thirties, that really do not have children, Princess, are great, but they are more jovial.

I hope that this might help:

  6. I usually use Holland America.  If you are an adult without children, this is a great line to take.  The patrons are usually more mature and although they have children's programs, there usually aren't a great deal of kids.
