Princeton University loses to New Jersey Institute of Technology by 1-3 – Volleyball news
The Princeton University men’s volleyball team had a match with their counterparts from the New Jersey Institute of Technology over the weekend gone by.
The competition between the two sides went on for four long and gruelling sets at the end of which the victory went to the team from NJIT.
Despite the fact that Princeton lost the match, they did not go down without putting up a good fight and made their opponents struggle in each frame of the game. By the time that the match had reached its close, the scoreboard showed the following final
set scores: 25-21, 21-25, 25-21 and 25-20.
Sophomore outside hitter Davis Waddell of the Princeton squad expressed his views on the performance of his team in the following manner at the press conference after the match had reached its close, “[Mike and Will] did a great job of drawing NJIT’s attention,
which opened me up to hit lots of different shots from the outside. Scott also did a great job of giving me the ball in situations where I knew I could score.”
On the other hand, freshman outside hitter Cody Kessel, shared his feelings by giving the following statements, “We are still a very dangerous team. The losses this weekend were disappointing, but we still have our end goal in sight. We take things away
from every match, win or lose, and we just need to make sure we are putting in the effort to improve every day.”
The recent win has enabled the NJIT to improve their overall number of season wins to seven while their defeats still exceed their victories at a figure of 10.
On the other hand, the EIVA record of the NJIT squad shows a total of three victories at the expense of two loses.
The overall season record of the Princeton squad is not better than that of their rivals as the number of wins tally at six while the defeats that the Tigers have suffered so far equal to be seven. On the other hand, the Tigers have earned themselves five
wins and an equal number of defeats in the EIVA.
