Question:

Principal problems getting worse?

I just posted a question a few days ago regarding the principal at my child's elementary school. Now this woman has sunk to a new low.She had requested that parents not arrive until 2:15 to pick up our children.we are supposed to line our cars up behind the school and wait for the kids to come to come out at 2:35.Well,today I arrived at around 2:00,seeing that I was there a little early I pulled into a parking space to wait until 2:15-a few parents however had already began forming a line-I watched as the principal had a school police officer approach the parents and tell them they were there too early-she then told them they must leave school grounds!!!One woman,a friend of mine told the officer that she would gladly park in a space until 2:15,the officer responded angrily, saying basically to "do whatever, just move her car".I feel this is going way to far-some parents drove away, obviously upset-my friend parked in a space near me.She was visibly shaken, she has high blood pressure ,by the way and I was very concerned.what can we do? This principal is like a prison warden. She does not want parents walking their children into the building, even though the parents are not causing any problem.I am afraid if I call the school board they will tell the principal my name and she will cause problems for my daughter.I am so angered and troubled. What can we do?

  1. why would you want to arrive 30 min before school finishes seriously.....when I go and get my son at school when he doesn't take  the bus most parents arrive 10min before classes ends...I think 2:15 is ok..but ask her why she does this, maybe for safety...like if it blocks the way of emergency vehicles....

reading your other question I will add this.....at our school it is policy that the children are left in the school yard before school starts when the teachers are in the yard, also if he arrives late we are buzzed in(all doors are locked from the outside) and the secretary gives him a note and sends him to class and if he is too small the office monitor will bring him and for security reasons we are not allowed to accompany our children to there classes in the mourning, imagine if every parent did that there would be adults always coming and going in the school and if in the mourning no one is watching maybe someone dangerous can sneak in....at the end of the day if the child is not taking the school bus the parents wait in the school yard and the teacher brings the students to the door and when she/he has made eye contact with the parent lets the child go.....I really believe this is done for security reasons.....there are unfortunately a lot of crazies out there...

  2. If this is a public school you have every right to park on school property, to leave your car, and to walk into your child's classroom.

I would contact your school district/county board of education.
