1st of all, there are 6 priciples of design in photography. Rhythm and pattern are combined as one.

1.Movement (physical; running, walking or compostional lines and shapes)

2. Contrast (contrasting colours, contrasting shapes, elaboration)

3. Unity

4. Emphasis

5. Rhythm and pattern

6. Balance (symmetrical, asymmetrical or radial/circular)
