Printer-Lexmarkx6570m Printer

I can't get it to print from the computer. I have the usb cable hooked up right because I've checked it twice. And I have WindowsXP, so it's suppose to be compatible with my computer. I'm at a loss. Can you please help me with this problem? Thanks, Janice
