  1. maybe your ink is wrong and you need to replace it.

if you have the instalation disc u can uninstall it and install it again

  2. try reinstalling the drivers

you can download them from the lexmark website. The drivers lexmark makes are known for breaking. I agree, lexmark makes complete garbage for printers.

  3. I have to agree. Reinstall the drivers and tell your Mom that Lexmarks are the bottom of the barrel, in the printer line.

If reinstalling doesn't work, it may be that your print heads are clogged. Does your printer do anything when you tell it print or copy? If it acts like it wants to print, but doesn't put any color on the page, then you may want to run a test page/nozzle check, do 3-4 head cleanings and then run another test page, to verify if any ink is getting through the print heads. It may take several head cleanings before they are completely clean. If this turns out to be the case, then tell your Mom that you are probably going to use a lot of ink and it would be cheaper to buy a new printer with FULL ink cartridges, then pay the price for Lexmark inks.

    Top performers: Epson, HP, Canon.

You can also try a head alignment, if your printer is trying to print.
