Printer won't print anything except the test page

printer connected to HP720 prints only test page.Tried out printing from microsoft word and I can only get my HP 720 to print out a test page and it is in color only so I don't even know if that is correct. When I try to print from word it will only print a page that says windows xp on the very top. Any suggestions?lplc@juno.com
