  1. Bitmap is great for tracing in CAD since you can make it transparency, but I found out it's not really friendly to plot.  

    I sometimes change the image from Bitmap to Tiff or Jpeg format.

    I do not know your plotter, but the one we had had the setting we could change for plotting bitmap or sid files.  From plot dialog box, go to properties (right next to the printer/plotter name).  Click the custom properties box in "device and document setting" tab.  Go to "image" tab.  The old plotter let us click or unclick "image only" there.  If you click “image only”, we could plot it out easily.  I hope this will help.
