Pasadena City College (PCC) shuttler, Priscilla Lun, has won three bronze medals in different categories in the 71st USA National Badminton Championships 2011, held at San Carlos, USA.
Priscilla, who is currently ranked at Number Six in the national rankings, also helped the badminton club, Lancers, to earn a bronze medal in the 2009 season of the South Coast Conference Team championship. She played a vital role in the victories of her club at various events by playing in different categories of the game at the same time.
Now, she has helped Lancers to earn bronze medals in Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories. She partnered with Thuy Hoang of Irvine College and earned an overall third position in the National Championships. She was remarkable in all categories of the game, as she has achieved a certain level of skill in both formats which includes the Singles and Doubles.
Priscilla was superb in all three categories of the game as she showed no signs of fatigue, which proved her terrific fitness for the game. In all the three categories, she delivered wonderful performances and defeated some higher ranked shuttlers in the event.
Head coach of PCC, Bill Sanchez, expressed about Priscilla’s performance and said that he is one of the most talented shuttlers in the whole country, who will surely perform well at the international level in near future.
Sanchez said, “Priscilla is an up-and-coming talent in national badminton.”
He further added, “We were a few points of making it to the team state championship match, which could have been a wonderful finish to Lun's PCC career. We were happy to have her play for us as she helped us re-establish Pasadena as a premier badminton school.”
In the previous month, Priscilla clinched the Women’s Singles title by representing Lancers at the San Diego Mesa Tournament. She has a tremendous record whenever she has represented the PCC, as she has never lost even a single match in the Women’s Singles category to any other player in the team matches.
