Has anyone out there had a successful relationship (romantic) with an inmate and continued their relationship after they were released, or is currently in a relationship with an inmate?

I'm looking for people that have had experience with this, not just people that feel like discouraging me for no reason.

So tell me your stories and any advice you can give if you have had a relationship with an inmate. Thanks

  1. I think it would be fine. But be careful. Some of the inmates are looking for women that are willing to give them there life savings. Criminals are sneaky characters. while in jail  they will sweet talk you . But when they get out forget about that. Unless you are loaded.($$$$)

Do a search for inmate Pen~ pals. There are lots to choose from.

Just keep your guard up and don't give out any personal information. Get a seprate post office box so that they don't get you home address.

  2. I am currently in one now. I was with him before he went in. He is currently serving 7 years and I was down for him since day one. We have been together a total of 11 years, so yes it can work. It's not easy maintaining, because you deal with his constant mood swings. But like any relationship, you have to work at it. Just let him vent, lend an ear. He is already miserable in there, don't add the stress. Be his best friend, besides his girlfriend. They want someone who they can express feelings to. What ever he needs, get it for him, Like magazines subscriptions, writing letters, and sending cards. You want to make his sentence a little more comfortable. If you be there for him,and be down for him, there should  be NOTHING that could come between you guys, and you will have a tight bond.
