Question:

Prisons - Prisoners should generate their own electricity using human powered generators.?

I recently saw an article about a Gym that had converted all its equipment (cycles and stair climbers..etc) to generate electricity. With all the loss of human potential in prisons, why not get them to contribute back to society by having them churn a generator and put something back into the grid?

  1. yes that's genrious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I'm sure it would cost more to replace gym equipment and protect it from abuse than it would to power a prison.

  3. hahahah that is a great idea. 25 to life on power duty lol

  4. Kinda like a work camp eh? I dunno could be a good idea

  5. That's funny. I love it! Put them to good use. =D

  6. this is probably classified as inhuman even tho its a fairly good idea

  7. That souinds just like that matrix thingie. I'd make sure you don't fudge it by having a leak

  8. You certainly get points for thinking outside of the box!  I have no personal objections.  The prison could sell the power back to the grid and maybe make itself self supporting.

  9. Because 3 people will disagree and cry out about inhumane treatment.  But they will yell really loud.  After that, a politician will see an opportunity to make a name for himself and latch on to the loud criers and introduce a "no prisoner electrical generation" bill and that will be the end of it.  I should write for schoolhouse rock.

  10. The amount of power generated by a person peddling a bike probably wouldn't be enough to supply power to the facility to begin with.

  11. I agree about prisoners not being properly punished; but should they be subjected to such harsh penalties.....?

  12. dude ur cold prisons punishment enough

  13. I like it the more these drains on society have to work the better I like it, prison should not be fun.

  14. Heck Yea!

  15. that is a very good question!

  16. Im sure they could since they can lift heavy weights, play basket ball, etc etc before retiring in their room for the night after a nice cooked meal to watch tv. With over 1,000,000 prisoners in just prisons alone in the US it seems they could be put to better use. Maybe cutting weeds along the roads by hand ( not a weed eater wasting gas ) or picking up rubbish like some States makes them do even today such as Missisippi, etc.

If life was harder on them it might make some stop to think is it worth it before they commit a crime.
