For private coaches is it just meaning private lessons or actually like a 24/7 all year round private coach that helps with off ice stuff to and that you just don't take a private lesson whenever you want to?

  1. Private lessons generally. They will always be available for scheduling competitions and some off ice stuff too, not just instructing strictly on ice-wise.

Most of the time: You have a lesson once a week, usually on the same day. Or you have lessons a few times a week, generally same day/time. But you can change the schedule as necessary, because flexibility is always good!

  2. it means private lessons. you can schedule them whenever you want, and whenever the private coach has time to teach you.

  3. Private lessons. Off ice is different with a different type of trainer.

Figure skating coach can teach you some move off ice to prepare you for the actual move on the ice...

you can read additional info about off ice training on my blog "the BYOP of figure skating, @http://thetripleaxel.blogspot.com/ Good luck

  4. Usually it just means you have private on ice lessons. The times are usually scheduled for a certain time. Having a private coach can be a big help but is not cheep $$$. 15 years ago I had 2 daughters skating and it was running 1K a month.

  5. A private coach teaches one-on-one lessons during a scheduled time on ice.  The coach usually has other skaters that they teach and work with on the ice.  Some coaches offer off-ice training, but not many that I have seen.  If a skater has a question or something outside of their lesson, they can probably approach the instructor, but private lessons are usually pre-scheduled and the coaches are not available 24/7.
