I'm planning to study aboard to USA and I want to know some good private high schools from across the United States, it doesn't matter if it's East Coast or West Coast.

By the way, have you heard of the following high schools? If yes, do you mind telling me which is the best among of them?

(NOTE: I don't need information about them, I just want to know their rankings)

1) Cate School

2) Thacher

3) Phillips Academy Andover

4) Phillips Exeter Academy

5) Milton

6) Kent

7) Choate Rosemary Hall

Thank you so much for answering!!!!! I will appreciate it very much!!! :]

  1. The only one I have heard of is Choate Rosemary Hall in CT.  I did my student teaching at a private Pre-K - 8 school in NY and 2 of my 8th graders got accepted to Choate.  I heard the program is excellent and you will get a lot of out of it.  I haven't heard of any of the others.  GL with your search.  Hope you find the school you are looking for

  2. All of the schools you listed are good schools. You need to find the school that "fits" you. What are your interests? What subjects do you like and what are your study habits? Read the websites for the schools you are interested in and especially read what life on campus is like so you can get a feel for the school. Check out their courses in the various subjects to see if they meet your standards. Check the activities the school offers because you don't want all academics all the time, you should balance your education with participation in clubs, music, drama or sports.

Exeter is a top school and offers a good program, but there are many more good schools such as Williston or Dearfield or ...   Go get a Petersons catalog of prep schools or check out websites that list "top private schools" and see what the criteria is for the ranking of the schools. Make a list of what is important to you for your education and see what schools meet your needs.

Again, make sure you and the school are a "fit" or even the highest ranked school on someone else's list will make you feel as if it should have been ranked low by your needs.
