Private Parking Lot Liability Question?

I have a large parking lot at my house. Since I live near a large sporting arena I'd like to sell parking spaces on game days. What is my liability for accidents and do I need to get a permit?

  1. THe permit thing is local, so no one here has any way of knowing if you need one.

The liability EXISTS, basically, not for accidents because you aren't parking the cars - but for any damage or theft to/from vehicles that are parked in your lot.   Garage liability is EXPENSIVE.  Plus, you've got the slip and fall issue, for people who get hurt on the lot.

Your homeowners policy won't cover you for this.   Talk to your agent about getting a CGL policy to cover you.  It's not cheap.
