Private Yahoo groups?

Question

I have been on yahoogroups since 2001. And as a moderator. I presently moderate 4 yahoogroups. All for specific group of friends who know each other off the virtual and non-real world of Internet. But never did I realise that the messages on the groups I moderate are open for others to see. I am very surprised by this. And now I am trying to find a way to make these private. But I am not being able to find how. Can anyone please help me?

a closed group, the archives never would be public. you must then have either a public or restricted membership group. if you're a moderator and not owner, you may not have the privilege to change this setting

management- under group settings click messages- messages and archives (edit) <-- click the edit- scroll to archive options and select members- click save changes
