Question:

Private chef recipe ideas

by  |  earlier

As me and my husband both have full time jobs, I have just invested in a private chef who will make dinner monday through friday for my family. Can you give me ideas of recipes for her to make for both lunch and dinner?

I have two daughters, one of whom is a vegetarian and the other only eats chicken, beef, and pork. They both enjoy soups, pasta, salmon and tuna, asian, italian, kosher, and french cuisine. My vegetarian also likes tofu. Thank you!

  1. She's the expert, consult with her.  She's supposed to have all the ideas and expertise.

  2. Lasagna made with only vegetables is a great dish for the non meat eater and us carnivores.  Other dishes that are similar would be veggie fettuccine with alfredo sauce.  I am trying to picture you and your family, you all sound so refined and well traveled.....anyway, I am a huge meat eater so I cant help too much with your little vegan.  I cook at home every day so I think I could just tell you what I had this week.  Pulled Pork (In a Crock Pot).  Oaxacan Taco's (allrecipes.com) Smoked Turkey sandwiches.  Fettucine with grilled chicken. Baked Chicken with rice (my favorite).  I did go out for dinner once this week and had a ribeye.

  3. You willl need to discuss this with your private chef so she can make up a menu for your family.   Since both daughters like salmon and tuna, soup, pasta, I think she can figure dishes out that would appeal to all of you.  It would be crazy to try to cater to each one individually but if it is simplel and quick, who knows, perhaps she can.  It's really up to her and you to work that out.

  4. Tell your chef to visit my food blog for some inspiration. There are lots of great recipe ideas, vegetarian, meat, seafood, desserts.  The recipes have a broad cultural range from Asia to France, Italy, England, and the Americas (both North and South).

  6. You really need to tell your chef what your family won't eat and what they enjoy the most.  A chef that's told to use other peoples recipes, instead of their own,  isn't going to be very happy at all.  You pay the for their expertise!

  7. No disrespect here, but if you have a private chef, she should have her own recipes.I am a head cook in a school and I have a whole cupboard full of recipes!! If she truly loves her job she will be creative, that's half of the fun of being a cook!!

  8. Um, paying for a private chef INCLUDES recipes and meal planning!  If your personal chef is clueless, ditch her and find another one.  If you just tell her "Heavy on the seafood, easy on the spicy foods, emphasize fiber", she ought to be able to comply.
