Private pilot license in Seattle??

Question

I have got $3k cash and want to get a private pilot license, does anyone know of a cheap flight school or intructor in/near seattle who could do it?? thanks

The cheapest aircraft rental I have seen is a Cessna 152 that goes for $85/hr. A minimum (and not really a realistic figure) requirement for training is 40 hours. This does not include instructor's time which is generally a minimum of $25/ hour or more or ground school training.

Unfortunately, this adds up to a lot more than $3000. Try to find a flying club at an airport and keep saving up. Clubs are usually cheaper in the long run but as others have said, you're only about halfway there. Wish I had more encouraging news. Most clubs or schools will however let you pay as you go. Never give any school or instuctor all your money up front.

Try the website below for a flightschool near you,However its will be prety much impossible to do at $3000 - A "Cheap Flight School" may also not be the way you want to go especially if you are interested in getting into aviation for a living.

There is no such thing as a cheap flight school.  I would take a couple of lessons and see if it's for you.  If you can find someone who flies for a living and wants to give instruction for free, you might make a deal with him or her.  And, if you know someone who has a plane, all the better.  Good luck.

With fuel prices being what they are today, you've got about 1/2 of what you need... Don't wait too long, cause it ain't getting any cheaper.

XP pilot has given you great advice in his/her last sentence.

I know, and have heard of many aspiring pilots that lost all of their up front money due to the school going out of business or their Instructor (Independent) moving on or loosing their medical.

Dont fall for the line" buying "block" time will save you money in the long run", in most cases, it is simply not worth the risk.
