Is there a such thing as a grant or free money to help get your P.P.Lic? and if so how do you do it?

Is there any other way to get them other than 50,000 that no one has

  1. First of all, a PPL will not cost you $50,000 unless your flying a jet. You will be flying a small Cessna or Piper and usually when it is all said and done, it's $10,000 at the most. Usually it's about $4,000 to $7,000. Yes, you can get student loans and grants, but you will have to pay these off eventually.

  2. Want to fly for free? Join the Air Force. Besides they have the best aircraft.

  3. First, it's a Private Pilot Certificate.  It's only a 'license' to learn.

You can get a Private Pilot's Certificate, or you can go all the way through the ratings and certificates and become an airline pilot.  I wish there was a grant or free money, but there's not - at least I haven't come across it...

Most folks get to the CFI level, and then go to work building hours instructing for a school.

It's really worth the money and effort to become a pilot.  There's nothing like being up there, looking down here.

    Good luck in your efforts.

  4. Try this site: http://money2fly.googlepages.com/home

You might qualify for some of them but chances are you'll have to come out of pocket for the majority of your training.

  5. Being a PP is a wonderful experience and there is NO feeling quite like the one you get when flying through the clouds, free as a bird. Have a look at all the links that have been given to you, above. You should be able to get either a loan or a grant.  It's a worthwhile experience. Iíl have my PPC in the next few weeks and I'm so excited.

  6. If you are from the UK you could apply for sponsorship from G.A.P.A.N (Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators).
