  1. Google it

  2. The good private teachers that every advanced violinist wants for violin will mostly also teach at the universities. The most a teacher may charge in each town might be $100-$120 per hour, but there are also very good teachers that charge $60-$75 per hour.

You'll want to look up online any teachers' association that is active in the city, and see if there is a list of teachers and phone numbers/e-mail addresses.

A good way of finding out what the teacher preference is in your city is meeting other student violinists who are at your level or more advanced (possibly by joining a local youth orchestra) and ask the others who their teachers are.

  3. A tutor, a private lessons provider, symantics.....OK, check the ads, check school posts, check with the music department or check the link.

  4. My guess is that what you want is not a tutor, but private violin lessons.  Check at your school about good teachers.  They may be more expensive, but they are worth it.  Sorry I can't give you the current rates for violin teachers, but they vary depending on where you live and how good the available teachers are.

  5. The best thing is to Google.

You can try the local university or college  and see if the professors there give private lessons or have studios with other teachers.

Another option is to get private lessons from one of the University Students if you are starting out. This is a cheaper option.

Check out the Symphony orchestra in your area as they may have some musicians that offer lessons.

Check out the different youth symphonies in the area and see who their musicians are studying with.

    Ask the local music store.

    Um pricing, I've heard for a professional it's ~$60. /hr.

At the music store when I took it a long time ago it was $15.00 / 30 minutes. I am sure that the price has since gone up.

If you can't afford these I suggest joining the school orchestra and or youth orchestra, and definitely audition for honor orchestra, even if you think you won't make it. Because 1 you may suprise yourself! 2) You can get tons of experience playing with other talented musicians, guest conductors will teach you  alot, and you'll be exposed to a lot of music  . Experience will teach you a lot. Your peers can help you. And you can learn a lot from the conductor.
