I am a university student and i'm not studying education though after helping my close friend with her year 11 chem homework i was considering becoming a tutor.

Are there any laws i need to know about before setting up private tutoring from home?

I would only do a few subjects that i am confident at.

What price would you charge?

  1. $20 an hour should be fair.

  2. $124645616548646167873148465168789465168... an hour.

  3. It really depends on where you live on what you will charge.  Since you are a student you won't be able to charge more than a fully credentialed teacher.

In California, private tutoring runs anywhere from $45-$70 per hour.

I also recommend that you go to the student's house, where parent's are home.  You have to look out for yourself.
