  1. privatized is part of captialism..    the rich get richer and the sick get dead

EDIT -      i spoke with a canadian about their system..  he said the cost ends up being about even    (out of pocket vs tax)

good point about the insurance lobby.  more money grubbers.

  2. I am concerned about the quality of care that comes with a universal health care.

I have been without health care for long periods - it does suck!  I know.

But if everyone gets free care, who is to say that they will think twice about going to the doctor the second they feel a cold coming on.  Hospitals will be over run by people who have a runny nose & that is it.

Doesn't each state have something for the uninsured?  Especially for kids....?

  3. Here's why: the Insurance Lobby. It's incredibly wealthy and it's not to insurance companies advantage to allow Universal Health Care, because it will be regulated and the Insurance industry will change dramatically and lose money. All the other stuff you hear, like there will be waiting lists for care and the stuff the first person above says are the scary stories circulated by the Insurance Lobby. Can Canada, France, Great Britain, etc. ALL be wrong??
