Pro Bowl stars feel for Peyton Manning with nothing much on offer as solution – NFL News
Indianapolis Colts’ injured quarterback, Peyton Manning, has been showered with the words of sympathy and encouragement from some of the leading Pro Bowl players over the development of his situation with regard to his future at Colts, which is increasingly
looking to shorten his days at the field, despite not feeling that his time has come.
In their respective comments, a majority of them believed what been happening with Manning is the lethal nature of the business at National Football League (NFL) that has not spared some of the greats such as Brett Favre and Montana in the past.
"It's tough, and it's somewhat sad," Atlanta Falcons tight end, Tony Gonzalez, said.
"But it happens to everybody. If you play long enough, something is going to happen. It's unfortunate that it happened this way for Peyton with the injury. But it's all been done before. Look at Joe Montana."
The football careers of both the players, great names of their time, wer shortened amid such controversies as Manning is facing now, despite the players still hungery and energetic to continue playing the game.
"It would seem a little weird, just like when Favre went to another team," Bears' cornerback, Charles Tillman said Thursday. "It just doesn't seem right in the beginning. But the weirdness fades."
Peyton Manning’s future is on the line amid a wave of uncertainty and controversy, and apparent silence of his employer, Jim Irsay.
The fear of him losing his contract at Colts have heightened in the perspective of Irsay’s rash hiring firing drive, which has forced out all their previous managers, head coaches and assistant coaching staff.
Manning is recovering from a neck surgery and missed the entire 2011 National Football League (NFL) season with the same injury.
Since the sacking of all his previous bosses and coaches, he is apparently desperate to have a final word about his future with his employer, Jim Irsay.
Amid an atmosphere of confusion and uncertainty that has developed around Manning’s future prospects, following the sacking of all those officials, conclusively people are thinkning that Colts have already decided to move beyond the Peyton era.
Reports in some sections of media last week had claimed that Colts management has already reached its decision of saying goodbye to their start quarterback.
The reports were immediately denied by Irsay, with again nothing confirmed about his alternative choice about Manning’s future to his apparent departure from Colts.
In the absence of such a confirmation as to determination of his football future at the team, Peyton Manning is going through a painful period of time. The situation does not bode well into his efforts for recovery from his neck injury.
This is what some of his former colleagues and leading football stars feel about him, with nothing much able to do about it.
They said it was a part of the business and all previous stars of Manning's calibre had been through all this.
