You say a women should be able to do what she wants with her body. Shouldn't a man be able to do what he wants with his body. If I want to smoke pot I'm not harming anyone, not even myself. If a women wants to have an aboriton she's putting herself at medical risks and depending upon your beliefs killing a baby or a fetus. Do you support me being able to smoke pot? It is my body and unlike abortion no-one is being harmed.

  1. i'm all for it.

  2. Smoking pot has nothing to do with abortion. Really bad comparison. Abortion debates are against an unborn, unknowing fetus being a victim. There is no way to compare that to a grown man or woman using an illegal drug.

  3. I'm pro-choice, pro-pot, pro-prostitution, pro-g*y marrige, and don't believe you should be forced to wear a seat belt.  I consistantly believe you should be able to do whatever you want with your own body.

  4. I'm actually in favor of legalization of marijuana, since it is a less harmful drug than alcohol or tobacco. Now, had you said something like cocaine, then I'd have to say no. Because using drugs such as that can very easily lead to harm to yourself others. Unlike abortion, which, when done by medical professionals, is unlikely to lead to harm to anyone. After all, a fetus is not a human being. If you say that the risk of harm due to a medical procedure is a reason to not allow the procedure, then I guess you're in favor of outlawing all elective procedures.

  5. I consider myself to be socially libertarian for the most part. I am for drug legalization. Abortion, to me anyway, is trickier.

If you get past all the rhetoric, the abortion debate basically comes down to this. Is the fetus a separate being with separate rights or is it a part of the mothers' body until/unless it is carried to term. There are many people who feel so strongly about both sides of this, which is why you see such fierce debate. I find compelling arguments on both sides and really have never been able to decide.

As far as practicality goes though, I don't think there's any real way to stop it. This isn't a politically correct thing to say, I know, but abortion is a medical procedure which resulted from advancing medical technology. And as hard as many have tried, there is no way that a government can push back the advancement of technology. Meaning, abortion is here to stay. Meaning, if it were outlawed, would a lot of people be more careful? Of course. However, it certainly wouldn't be all, and what you would wind up with would be a black market for abortions. Resulting in unsanitary abortion procedures, which I think would lead to more sickness and death. And possibly an underground market for criminals. Just like drug dealers.

  6. Think your missing the point.  It's simple, abortion is legal, smoking pot is not.

  7. Yes, you should be able to smoke pot......legalize it today!

  8. I'm pro-all of those things, too.  I think we should all be able to decide what we do with our bodies as long as it doesn't harm others (I know, the argument of abortion harming others will be used against me, but you know what I mean.)

If you're going to smoke pot and NOT go out and drive, and NOT do anything that will endanger other people, go for it!  It's along the same lines as alcohol.

I also feel people should not be FORCED to wear seat-belts, as long as they are content with the fact that they might die in an accident where the seat-belt very well may have saved them.  Hey, if they're OK with that thought, whatever.

  9. What a bizarre concoction of issues...a perfect example of what happens when you smoke pot when pregnant.

  10. I believe a woman has the right to choose if she wants an abortion or not, and I also support legalization of marijuana.

But that is beside the point. You are talking apples and oranges. Two different things. The reasons why abortions are legal has nothing to do with why marijuana is illegal.
