More babies=more teen mothers=more people on welfare who don't go to college. That's not good.

  1. Society would continue as normal, but there would either be a lot more children, or better contraceptives.

  2. We'd have more babies.

  3. over population? child abuse? high teen suicide rate? (it's already high enough) food shortage and the prize gone up again? (I'm not very happy with the current rice prize either)

people start supporting another law saying" you must be a catholic or go to jail"?

  4. I want to shoot you with this.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jXut4MdO...

  5. People would cease to live in an uups society an learn to take responsibility of their actions.

  6. I'm not pro-life but what Royce and RoVale say would be the norm.     I was around before abortion was legal.   Women who were wealthy would have their doctors give them D & C's for non existent gyn problems.    Other women would die from botched abortions, or be maimed.

A lot more men would be ordered to pay child support as well.

  7. I am not pro life but wanted to throw my two cents in anyways.  I don't think the pro-lifers care what happens once they achieve taking the rights of others away.  I don't think they care about the kids who will be harmed by it, the burden it will cause for society, the young women who will die by the illegal procedure they get done, basically any of the destruction it would cause.  They simply care did they get their way, are there more babies in the world?  They as a whole offer nothing else.

  8. From a non pro lifer:

More unwanted children weighing down the welfare system.

    More illegal and dangerous abortions

    update:

I really can't put it any better than Royce Ann!

  9. Hopefully people would take more trouble to use contraception if they didn't want to have babies.  it isn't very difficult to avoid getting pregnant if you really don't want to be.

  10. Probably the same thing like what happened in Romania when contraceptives and abortion were outlawed. People had more children than they could possibly afford to care for and many ended up in orphanages. The children who were healthy were fairly well cared for but those with handicaps and deformities were hidden away and forced to live in squalor. In the early 1990s, American couples flocked to that country to adopt children but it soon fizzled out when many of them ended up getting children with serious behavioral problems or were HIV+ and weren't told about it.

  11. Royce is right:  "Pregnant daughters were kept hidden and their children killed at birth".

I personally know of such a case; they were in the thousands.

  12. Personally, I believe the answer should lie somewhere in the middle ground.

If I were to err, it would be on the side of life.  I do believe that an abortion stops a beating heart.

But, I would not want to see women getting hurt in back-alley crackpot abortions.  Does making drugs illegal solve America's drug problem?

The real problem lies with handling the problem of unwanted pregnancies.  There exists a negative stigma on any young (unmarried) pregnant woman.  And, why not on the young man?  It does take two to cause a pregnancy.

Instead, we should focus more on counselling and education for all youngsters.  There should be POSITIVE alternatives for youngsters that end up in this situation.

This could include daycare facilities run by people on welfare.  If they have children, they could work watching other children....allowing their parents to work outside the home.   The real judgement of any 'welfare' program should be it's ability to get people off of it.....and back to contributing to society in general.

  13. I am not a pro life. I am old enough that I can remember when abortion was illegal. Many young women died or were left so scared that they could never have children. Pregnant daughters were kept hidden and their children killed at birth. I was forced to give my child away and I was in my 20's. A friend of mine bled to death on her parents kitchen table where they had tried to preform an abortion on her. She was 14. I think if abortion was made illegal again that we would go back to the old ways. Rape victims would be forced to have babies. I could go on and on and on.

  14. hmm..pretty much the same thing that happened before Roe vs Wade....

    it would still happen...

  15. The wellfare system would collapse and we could demand of people to be responsible for themselfs and their families again.

  16. Yahoo Answers would get boring cause no one would post anymore questions about it.
