Hey, i play rugby for England u18s, i often go to the gym but would like to get bigger, at the moment i am taking optimum nutrition whey protein, which has 36g of protein per 40g serving which i though was good.

Howethor, it is not making me much bigger, i think this is because is contains only 2g of carbs...

I have recently found out about Pro-Mass which contains 30g protein and 65g carbs per 100g serving, will adding lots of carbs to my diet via shakes make me 'bigger'.

If you want to check out the products:

o.p 100% whey protein - http://monstersupplements.com/store/p/446/1/Optimum-Nutrition-100-WHEY-PROTEIN---2lb.html

Much appreciated.

  1. I'd build the carbs into your diet.  Don't rely on stuff out of a bottle, and make sure they are complex carbs.  Mix beans and rice, squash and corn, etc.

For a basic bodybuilding supplement regimen, make sure you are taking: a good multi-vitamin, B-Complex, and Vitamin-C.  If you want good whey protein, try adding a scoop of dry milk to a glass of whole milk.  You'll get the same amount of whey protein as you find in your shakes, and you'll save a bunch of money.

After you've done all of that, I might add some Creatine Monohydrate to help you work out and add mass; just make sure you are getting plenty of fluids.

  2. You're better off taking an opinion from a proper medical officer - a sports one at that.

  3. Don`t rely on any of that c**p,...play hard , sink a few beers after.........." Big " doesn`t make good Rugby players..... ability doesn`t come in a botlle..........unless of course  it`s ....."' RED MATE " !...
