Pro Volleyball...What?

Does it really exist and can you make money doing it?

Yes it does!

Pro Indoor and Pro Beach volleyball.

Pro Indoor:

There are a few other questions that begin with "Pro Volleyball..." so search for them here on Yahoo! Answers.

Volleyballers can make money unlike what people commonly are aware of.

I am just going to list some normal things a pro might get male or female.

1.  Furnished Apartment, 5 Star Hotel or rented Home

2.  Car or in some countries a driver(i.e. Indonesia)

3.  Medical Insurance (Work and possibly Personal too)

4.  Paid Meals (1-3 per day)

5.  Paid Vacations (not normal but happens)

6.  Shoes, uniforms, practice gear, etc.

7.  Paid travel to and from the country you play in.

8.  Bonuses for personal performance and/or team performance.

These are just some of the possible and normal perks of the job!

Last but not least is:

Money:  

Semi-pros make anywhere from 400USD-1000USD per month

Pros make anywhere from 1000USD-40,000+ per month.

The better you get the better the money and perks you can get are!

The sad thing is that people don't know this and the ones that do sometimes have all the facts wrong!

Being a pro has it's ups and downs.  But I tell you what I am still in it because I absolutely love the sport. It is not about the money but it is an awesome opportunity to be paid to do what you love and you get compensated for how well and consistently you can play it at a pro level. Also, you get to travel around the world and live in different countries and learn different languages and make friends everywhere. The more professional you are and better you get the further you will go in pro volleyball.

Beach:

Yes, this too makes money and more people know of it as being a paying sport.  Some of these athletes are eating pb&j for years but some are also set for life.  Check out http://www.avp.com and look at the results for tournaments to understand what they can earn.  This is much more unpredictable in terms of income as opposed to indoor volleyball. Players, however, can make great money and also can secure sponsorships to get more income to be more competitive.

Well there's the AVP tour in the States where the better players can make some good cash.  Not sure about court though.  Maybe in other countries?

i believe there is pro team volleyball in other countries.
