sunday night game of the week use to clock bat speeds and I think they did it for a couple of years. Mark Mcgwire and sammy sosa back in the late 90's were swinging around 98 and 99 mph. On average, if memory serves correct, you'd see between 80-95, 95 being an average power hitter, and 80 being a singles hitter.
