Question:

Pro-life agenda against the use of contraceptives?

Some of the contraceptives include the Birth Contril Pill, Depo-Provera, and the IUD.

From what I have researched, they act as if there is a zygote already gestating before the sperm even reaches the uterus in people who are using birth control.

To them it seems, the act of protecting yourself against an unwanted pregnancy is wrong.

What are your opinions?

  1. There are a lot of conservative pro-life people that believe that protection is wrong. Many of them think this because if God wants a person have a child, then He'll allow them to and by using protection, you're trying to take control of something that you should just trust God with. You can make fun of these type of people all you want, but believing this works fine for some people - like me! :D

  2. I really have no problem with people not wanting to personally use contraceptives or have an abortion because of their religious beliefs.

However, when these same people deny others (who may not have the same beliefs) access to information and services (contraception or abortion), then they are violating the right of other people to make their own choices in life.

This is unconscionable especially when such beliefs are translated into State policies.

  3. I'm pro choice so I don't buy into any of their c**p.

  4. They are all harmful to the female body.Do the research.Condoms are good, but not pills.

  5. For some religious types, the best method of birth control is abstinence, or even just non-ejaculation. This rules out for them other methods based on ethics or physical and mental health reasons. Some drugs can actually cause abortions, which is an ethical barrier. Many believe that a person is healthier when they retain more sexual energy, but this energy is released during o****m. Another health concern is that there is no absolutely safe method to stop the transmission of STDs. Finally, Christians commonly believe that when one takes away the undesirable effects of intercourse it leads to the psychological cheapening of s*x.

  6. I am VERY Pro Life, but I don't agree with birth control being wrong.  Morning after pill, that's one thing I'm still If-y on, but the rest seem fine to me.  I would assume Pro Lifer's would be for birth control so that abortions wouldn't come up as often you know?  But, lots of things people do and think don't make any sense to me.  I think it's moreso the religions that are against birth control, not the solely pro lifer's.  I could be wrong.  If you're preventing conception, then you're not killing anything.  I think that's the answer FOR Pro Lifer's.  For anyone.  My own personal opinion is that it's just another way for religions to try to control people, and I think it's ridiculous, if not laughable.
