Pro skater JT Aultz recovering swiftly from skate accident in Las Vegas
Professional skateboarder JT Aultz of California is on a path of swift recovery from the critical injury that he sustained during a skating accident in Las Vegas on Thursday night, November 17.
He is expected to be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days, though he will have to wait for a green signal from his neurosurgeon to ride his skateboard again.
According to the latest updates, Aultz’s swelling has reduced and the doctors have removed his neck-brace. He has also been taken off the ventilator and breathing on his own now. The rate at which the skateboarder is recovering has convinced the doctors
that he will be ready for release from the hospital soon.
The San Diego-based Aultz found his way to the hospital bed after falling on a double kicked rail and suffering a fractured skull during a skating session in Vegas on Thursday night. He was immediately air-lifted to the University Medical Centre in Las Vegas
and placed in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The doctors put him in a medically induced coma and began to monitor him for internal bleeding, especially on the brain.
After a night of monitoring, his condition was upgraded from critical to stable, though he was still kept in a coma. By Friday night, a twitter update from pro skater Corey Duffel revealed that the 28-year-old Aultz had come out of coma and begun to talk,
though quite slowly. However, he was still being kept in the ICU for further monitoring until his condition improved further.
By Friday night, Aultz’s condition was being regarded as stable and strong by his visitors, who kept updating their Twitter with the latest news about their friend and fellow skateboarder.
Aultz has earned a lot of respect in the skateboarding community through his skills and exhibition of these skills in various skate videos such as Lost Days, Real Since Day One and Throwaways. He has also proven his mettle in numerous competitions which
includes Tampa AM, Vans Downtown Showdown Foundation Big Board among many others.
We will continue to update you as the story develops.
