Pro skater Jereme Rogers charged with criminal mischief and unlawful possession of drugs in New York
American Professional skateboarder Jereme Rogers was arrested on Thursday, January 5, after allegedly going on a dug-fuelled naked rampage at the Affinia Shelburne Hotel in New York, America.
According to sources, the 26-year-old Rogers came running out of his room completely naked while rambling mindlessly and began to rip framed artwork off the wall in the hallway of the 11th floor of the hotel. The rampage was eventually brought
to an end by the security, who later handed him over to the police.
“He was throwing paintings off the wall and stomping on them,” said a source. “He was out of his mind.”
Another witness of the incident, who wishes for her name to remain anonymous, said, “It was a rampage. He was screaming. We didn’t even know what he was doing. He was incoherent and belligerent.”
Alleged to be high on phencyclidine, more commonly known as angel dust, Rogers was taken to the Bellevue Hospital Centre for treatment.
According to the New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson Detective Brian Sessa, the California-based rider was charged with criminal mischief and criminal possession of marijuana.
This incident is not the first instance where Rogers has been involved in a public display of nudity and bizarre behaviour. Last year in June, he stripped his clothes and started to ramble from a rooftop in Redondo Beach, California, before the cops pulled
him down. He was taken to the hospital for observation but the authorities did not put any charges on him.
After the previous episode, two of his sponsors released him from his contracts. A couple of weeks later, he announced his retirement from professional skateboarding to pursue a career in rap music.
However, Rogers made a comeback to professional skateboarding after a few months, looking to pursue a career in both skateboarding and rap simultaneously. He also launched his new company by the name of “Selfish Skateboards”, becoming even more involved
in the skateboarding industry.
With the latest incident of bad behaviour and public nudity, Rogers is likely to face a new set of problems in what had been a pretty bumpy career in recent years.
