Pro snowboarder gear/endorsements?

I noticed that for the major companies that make everything (boards, bindings, boots, softgoods) their team uses or at least endorses everything that they offer. For most people, one company's products doesn't suit all of their needs in gear. How do the pros deal with that?

Well, most of the pro riders have many different sponsors. Only a few I have noticed have just one particular sponsor that does everything and they are usually rookies in the industry. Most riders have a separate sponsor for boards and bindings, boots, outerwear, innerwear, and helmets and goggles. Even riders that are sponsored by, let's say Burton, have other sponsors for goggles, helmets and gloves.

No pros are only sponsered by 1 company. Trust me dude, research any pro, they all have a slew of sponsers...

a lot of pros deal with multiple sponsors, but some are head to toe in one sponsor too.

But as for your question, yeah, many times a company doesn't have a product that completely suits a rider.  This is where product development comes in.  If a rider thinks something is missing, they will work with the company to develop something.  Some companies are better at doing this then others.  

I know of some riders that are working with their sponsor to develop new products to better suit their needs.  I also know of some riders that ride for other companies that consistently give the same complaints every year but the company says they will work on it but never do.  This can cause some riders to try and switch sponsors.

shaun white is one of those rare oddities:

board - burton

bindings - burton

boots -burton

jacket&pants - burton

goggles - oakley

helmet - red (burtons company)

pros are normally done by multiple companies.

Stian Solberg rides 32 boots with union bindings.

not every company makes outerwear so a lot of those guys/gals turn to something else.
