Question:

ProV1x stops on a dime...?

Tried out the ProV1x for the first time with my new irons. When pitching from 50-100 yards out, I was short of the flag most of the time due to the spin of the ball. Where I usually play a little run to the flag with balls like the NXT Tour, Maxfli Noodle Long & Soft and other balls, the ProV1x just stopped which left me with longer putts.

The back 9 was better as I was able to narrow in on the flag more, give it some loft and nail my distances pretty well. It took a while getting used to having a ball stop like that but on those days you are on, it makes things so much better doesn't it?

  1. I usually play the ProV1. Last week I had a sleeve of ProV1x. Twice I hit the ball short on the front edge of the green and back it up into the fairway. Real bummer. :-)

  2. Yes there are many advatages of spinning your approach shots, especially with a pro v1x

    1) allows more control on distance and tragectory

    2) much more consistent landing because if it lands and rolls it will go with the break of the green and away from the hole

    3) it allows you to attack tight front pins and back pins where trouble is behind the green

    4)it looks great!

Btw for even more spin use the standard pro v1

  3. Yes.  I usually try to practice with a ball before I actually play with it to see how it reacts around the greens.  That is the advantage to playing with balls tour players use.  They stop on a dime.  You can fly them closer to the hole.

  4. great golf balls no doubt , but since you had new irons also . the grooves would be like razor blades , this also would add to the spin ratio . good luck
