Question:

Proactiv--should I stop using it?

I've been using Proactiv Solution for the past three or four weeks now. Before using Proactiv, my skin actually looked better than it did. But now, I have breakouts on my cheeks and chin. I never broke out in those areas before using Proactiv, and I'm worried that if I continue to use it it will only get worse.

I used Proactiv a few months ago before getting back on it and stopped using it because I was freaking out over the new breakouts, but when I stopped using it, it got worse than EVER. So I got back on it and at first it worked really well. I stopped breaking out on my forehead nearly completely. But now that I'm back on it for the second time my forehead has little white bumps all over it.

Should I stop using Proactiv or should I continue with the 60-day trial? I've been told that this is happening because the treatment is drawing the impurities out. Is this true? And how long should it be before I start seeing major results?

  1. Don't worry - your skin is just doing a deep purge. Its always worse before it gets better.

If after a few more weeks its still bad, then discontinue. But for now, it's normal.

  2. I say use Proactiv until to bottle that you currently has runs out, then either get a new cleanser (if it is still bad) or stick with Proactiv if your skin heels and is good.

  3. i think u should continue using it to complete 6 weeks because usually ur skin first becomes worse when u use acne creams, but afterwards ur skin becomes much better..u know the impurity thing ur talkin abt..if ur skin doesnt get better in six weeks, then discontinue the product and return it bak to proactiv...
