I can't figure out my homework. It says.. Use the table for Exercises 9-13. Estimate the probability of each event. The table says Results: Single-20, Double-12, Triple-2, Home Run-8, Walk-10, Out-28, and the Total is 80. #9 wants the probability of a batter getting a single, #10 wants the prob. of getting a double, #11 wants the prob. of getting a triple, #12 wants the prob. of getting a home run, and #13 wants the prob. of a batter getting an out. Can someone help me? I just don't understand it.

  1. 20+12+2+8+10+28=80

    Probabilities are

    single = 20/80 = .250

    double = 12/80 = .150

    triple = 2/80 = .025

    homer = 8/80 = .100

    walk = 10/80 = .125

    out = 28/80 = .350

    The probabilities must add up to 1.000

    .250+.150+.025+.100+.125+.350 = 1.000
