  1. a

    a

    c

    simple probability

  2. if you mean on Q2 that it adds up to five or less then this is the answer:

    the answer is definitely:

    1 = a

    2 = a

    3 = c

    the way to work it out is

    1:

    35 divided by 5 = 7

    so the probability of a bowler getting a strike is 1/7

    because the bowler has 1 in 7 chances in theory

    of getting a strike

    2:

    there is 6 ways of adding up to 5 or less on a dice that is:

    1+1 , 1+2 ,  1+3 , 1+4 and 2+2.

    that means that there is 6/35 chances of rolling 2

    numbers that add up to 5 or less that simplified is 1/6

    and so on....

    good luck with the coursework!!

  3. a

    b

    c

  4. 1.b

    2.c

    3.?

    i think...

  5. 1. A. Reduce 5/35...divide the denominator by 5...1/7

    2. A. There are 36 ways they can be rolled (6x6).

    Six of these add up to less than 5:

    1 and 1

    1 and 2

    1 and 3; and the inverses

    1 and 1

    2 and 1

    3 and 1.

    So 6/36 reduced is 1/6.

    3. C. This one is easy. The dimensions are 3x3 which is a an area of 9 units (4 square inches each) total. There are fours corners. So 4/9
