What is the probability of seeing the Perseus meteor shower living in Florida on the SE coast? I'd like to get out and see it if possible.

  1. You'd expect that the probability has to do with your local weather patterns.  But you can try every night until this weekend and see at least some.  So all you need is a clear bit of sky in the next seven days or so. The peek is tonight.

  2. You can see it anywhere the skies are clear.  I know there's no moutains in Florida, but if you could get up high where the air is clear & thin - you have a better chance.

  3. I live in NE Florida, you should see it fine.  But they don't really get going good until late - 12 or 1AM.  Look NE.  The moon will be up low in the SW part of the sky, that will interfere some, but not too bad, I'm thinking.  See this site for more info:  http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing...

Try to get where it is dark.  Meteors will show up better in the rural areas or on an isolated beach away from street lights.  Just don't go alone if you're a lady.  Bring a big husband, boyfriend or pistol.  : )

    Enjoy.
