Probably a stupid question but....Canned Beets?

I have a can of beets and i was going to use it for a salad but i just looked at the can and it gives cooking instructions? Do the beets need to be cooked before eaten? I feel like an idiot asking ...lol

Canned beets are cooked and ready to eat.

Nope, they're ready right out of the can.  I put sliced pickled beets on salads all the time.

Straight from the can is fine,  just watch out for the juice - it stains like no one's business.
