I was sentenced for probation for a misdemenor . for 3 years i have paid the court fees and my po told me shes requesting early termination now. i live in new york and i was 20 during conviction . I already got in to a medical school . I havent doneanything since is there anyway i could request for my record to be sealed or expunge I know the new york law there is no expnugement but maybe because this was a misdemenor and i could assure no further crime will be commited i will be a model citizen . Is there anyway i could prevent this from popping up on a background check please advise and don't tell me the new york expungement laws i know about it but maybe there could be an exception considering I want to go to medical school and im serious about my life.

  1. You said you were already got ina medical school so do good and by the time you get out and stay out of trouble the misdermeanor charge will be okay.  Dont worry.  The only other way to consider is money.  Money talks.  There is no way you can assure anyone you will not commit a  crime.

  2. Nothing you do will ever keep the conviction or the arrest from a competent back ground check.

    Sorry, nature of the game.

Besides, promise all you want.  As a convicted person, you have less than zero credibility.  Not my opinion, just observations of the way things are.

  3. depends on the grade of the misdemeanor, 1st, 2nd or 3rd

  4. I've heard you can get your record cleared but you will have to hire an attorney and he's gonna charge you big bucks.  Good luck in Med school.
