My friend is on probation right now for shoplifting. While she is on it though, just is doing various drugs. Is this bad if someone found out? I don't think they drug test her tho. Also, she is underage. So I just needed know what could happen.

  1. well yea its bad weather they drug test her or not if someone found out the court could order her to take one and she could get back up time... plus drugs aren't good

  2. Doing drugs, including alcohol, tends to impair the judgement of the user, even in small amounts. Your friend already has shoplifted enough times to get caught. She may tend to reoffend if using drugs. Drugs also have the unfortunate side effect of becoming addictive the longer they are used, depending on the drug.

As some have said, a drug posession case would turn your friend's probation into a jail sentense and more charges. Help your friend by getting her a hobby and participate with her. A healthy, legal hobby. Good luck.

  3. well, if she is on unsupervised probation which is probably the case because the original charge was shoplifting, then that's probably the reason she hasn't been required to submit to a drug test.

generally, most conditions of probation include obeying all laws and ordinances and not using any controlled substances.    obviously, using drugs would be a violation of the probation two ways.

if your friend has been found to be in violation of her probation, her probation could be revoked and she could be ordered to spend her sentence in jail.

    so, yes, it's bad.

  4. A standard condition of probation is that the person on probation does not break any laws. Using and possessing illegal drugs is a violation of the law. If caught she could go to jail for the remainder of her probation.
