Problem accessing dvd from Canon DC20 to PC?

I bought the canon DC20 camcoder and now living in the US. I know I can't play it to my TV because it's PAL format not NTSC, but why is it that I am never able to open the files in the computer?? The computer recognizes the DVD as empty even though it's full. Please let me know the solution. I downloaded the Digital Video Solution disc and Roxio MyDVD. Nothing works. I am really disappointed and frustrated because right now I can only watch my recordings using the small screen of the camcoder.

Have you finalised the DVD in the camcorder?  If you have, try ripping the files with DVDDecrypter.

btw, your TV might be dual standard i.e. support NTSC and PAL - most European ones are, but I'm not sure about the US.
