Problem after blade replacement

Question

This trimmer is outstanding until you put a new blade on it. Although it hums like a Mercedes, it will no longer cut any which way. I own two and each is useless after the first blade. Been a barber over 20 years...I know how to replace a blade. It's not the blade either. Blade works fine on another trimmer... Never had such a struggle before. Any help with this?
