Problem burning files to a DVD+R Disk?

I need to burn about 4 GB of files to a 4.7 GB DVD+R disk. I have the TSSTcorp CDRW/DVD TS Burner on my laptop and I keep getting an error saying windows could not format the disk. Is my burner able to write files to a DVD+R or just to a DVD, because the DVD+R is not working.

  1. CD-RW/ DVD means that it can read and burn a CD but can only read a DVD.  If the RW/R symbol was directly after the DVD symbol than it would burn DVDs.
