Question:

Problem in Ordering Contact Lens.?

Hello,

I got a prescription. It says mine is -6.75.

I checked some contacts but they only had -6.50 and -7.00

so confused. What do I do ?

And,

Doctor wrote the 'Acuvue' on the copy of Prescription.

But I prefer Biomedics because it is more comfortable for me.

Do you think 'Acuvue' is written on the Prescription?

and If I order the Biomedics is it fine??

  1. If you like something different tell your DR

you can't get something different than the RX without his or her OK.

call the Dr to clarify  The RX  or fax it to the company you wish to go with.

  2. if the brand your looking at doesnt have your prescription then try a different brand. your doctor might have put acuvue because biomedics isnt as good or they dont have your prescription. if i were you i would order the contacts through your doctor and then you know youll get something good and youll get the prescription you need

  3. By law you can only order what the doctor has prescribed for you. If you do not like the Acuvue you need to contact your doctor about changing your brand before you order at all. And the doctor might have made a mistake on your prescription because most contacts lens after you get to -6.00 only go up in half steps (-6.50, -7.00) instead of quarter steps.

Keep in mind alot of doctors are commissioned by a manufacturer to sale their product so if you doctor refuses to fit you with another lens then see a different doctor. And depending on how long ago your last exam was they might charge you for another exam.
