I'm om Methadone, 110mg per day. I am also on Lithium 450x3. Seroquel 100 h.s., and Clonazepam 1-1.5 mg per day. My urine test has come up negative for Clonazepam ever since taking it 2 years ago. Leaves the program questioning if I am taking my prescribed benzo. Is this somewhat normal?

  1. The people looking at your results need to call the lab that did the test and ask them how sensitive their test is. 1-1.5mg per day is a small amount compared to how much you need to take with some benzodiazepines. It's a small amount compared to what people would take if they were abusing the medication, and a lot of drugs tests are generally designed to pick up drugs of abuse. It may be that the test isn't sensitive enough to pick up a small amount like that.

  2. What do you feel like in a given day?  That's a lot of meds.  How can you even type or stay awake?

  3. on all drug screens there is a lower level cut off for each drug.  THC has a very low cut off of 50 but others like benzos and opiates have a cut off around 300 or so.  anything below the cut off is considered negative and anything above the cut off is considered positive.  the drug screens are only expressed in positive and negative.. the actual number results aren't displayed.  The higher cut offs are used to take into consideration theraputic dosages most of the time... especially with low dosages.  some theraputic dosages  still result as positive sometime..  if the program is really concerned they could ask the testing facility what the number results were.  or they could ask for a specific test for the benzos and get number results.
