Problem mowing my lawn.

Question

My mower continually leaves single, uncut blades of grass. I have tried mowing more slowly, had the blade of the mower sharpened. I am sure to mow when the lawn is dry, but still I am left with uncut blades of grass sticking up everywhere. My lawn is St. Augustine.
