Problem scheduling USPS carrier pickup on the same day...(website won't let me!)?

I just tried to schedule an online USPS pickup but it said it would pick it up tomorrow. I thought USPS would pick it up the same day.

It was 11:15 AM when I tried it.

Is this normal?

The free Carrier Pickup Service can only be scheduled for the next day. You must do this by 2 AM. (I know, midnight to 2 am is the same day, but it's different)

If you want a same day pickup, you need to do a Pickup on Demand. You call the 800 number and request the pickup.

However, before you go grabbing the phone. Pickup on Demand incurs a $14.75 fee. it is not a free service.

You can only schedule same-day pickup before 2am on that day.
