  1. 1st problem: -2x+18 ≤3 (clear fractions; multiply both sides by  3 )

    -2x≤- 15 (subtract  18  from both sides)

x ≥ 7.5 (divide both sides by  -2 ; change the direction of the inequality symbol)

    2nd problem: 2x + 3 > -11

Begin by getting the variable on one side by itself by subtracting 3 from both sides. Then divide both sides by 2. Since you are dividing by a positive 2, there is no need to worry about changing the sign of the inequality.

         2x + 3 > -11

         2x > -14

           x> - 7

    Problem 3: 5x - 7 > 3x + 9

    2x - 7 > 9 (after subtracting -3x from both sides)

    2x > 16 (after adding +7 to both sides)

    x > 8
