you are going to a concert in another town 48 miles away. you can average 40mph on the road you plan to take to the concert. what is the minimum number of hours before the concert starts that you should leave to get to the concert

justtt a giirl Actually you did not give as When will the Concert start so we will be able to compute your starting time. But here instead I will give you how much time to travel from starting point to the concert.

Distance = 48 miles

Speed = 40 mile/hr

Time = Distance / Speed

Time = 48/40

Time = 1.2

0.2 x 60 = 12 min

Time needed to reach the concert place = 1 hours & 12 min.

So you have to start 1 hr & 30 min before the concert start so you have still 18 min. for other necessities before the concert start..

40mph that means if you give yourself an hour you can only do 40 miles which means there will be 8 miles missing and you will be late. this means that you must leave 1 hour and 8/40 = 0.2 of an hour before. Hence this means 0.2 * 60 minutes which is 12 minutes.

1 hour and 12 minutes before the concert.

If you are just considering this in hours only then you should leave 2 horus before.
