Problem using Airport Express

My apple airport express will not connect with my Arris TM502A/B. The green light is on, signalling that there is a connection to the modem, and my wireless indicator icon is up and running, but there is no internet connection going on. Doesn't get through to my computer (Apple powerbook G4) What can I do?
